Headlamp Washer pulling current with engine off

Featured Replies

Hi

Had a flat battery the other day, replaced it with a new one as the old one was getting on a bit.

New battery has now gone flat as well. No internal lights or cigarette lighter was left active/plugged in. I've had a play with the multimeter and found that Fuse 36 (headlamp washer) was blown and when it was bridged with the multimeter, there was current going through, so I'm thinking a parasitic drain there?

I pulled the front left headlight but couldn't find a power connector to the headlamp washer as the rear - could anyone explain where it is so I can continue hunting this parasitic draw!

Kr,

Ben

Not sure on the Octavia but the fabia has a connection underneath near the bottom of screen wash bottle that connects to pump. From memory its accessible from underneath but may require engine under tray or plastic wheel arch removal.
