3 button plipper spec 434mhz???

Featured Replies

Hi,

Taking delivery of a 54 reg 2.0 PD TDI Octy on Tuesday. Unfortunately it only comes with one key. I've noticed that other VAG group cars have the same key (in appearance). Also, there appear to be instrucions out there as to how to programme them.

Does anyone know whether a Volkswagen branded 3 button 434 mhz will work (if cut and programmed correctly)??? - I'm asking as there are more available than Skoda keys and more cheaply.

Also, does anyone have any experience of having a blank key insert cut and programming it? Is it fairly straightforward?

Skoda have told me they would supply and programme a key for around

You can only program it yourself if you have access to diagnostic equipment.

Any 434 mhz remore should work, for the immobilizer it does have to be the correct type, i.e immo 2, 3 according to workshop manuals Octavia 2 is running immo 4.

Thank you, do you happen to know the part number?

I guess it may be best to source the key myself but get Skoda to reprogramme it. I'll ask them how much they would charge.

They only give you 1 key, you should get 2 when you buy it, I did

Its a second hand ex-lease car, one key has gone missing.

£8999 for a 54 reg 2.0 TDI Elegance with 52k and a 6-speed manual seems reasonable even if I have to source a spare key though..

That seems a good price.
