Head unit connection

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Is this one of the standard head unit connection and if so should there be a second? Has anyone got pictures of them both or point me to the correct ISO adapter please?

It’s also tucked down in the left hand corner of the head unit housing. Is this where it should be? as there’s no more length on it to either pull it either down further or higher in the head unit housing.

Regards Rob

On other cars I’ve owned when you push the key into the ignition barrel power would go to the radio. With the Skoda I don’t have that, I need to turn the ignition on to get power to the radio.

Is that how Skodas are wired up?

Factory wiring in Felicia is always active. Some owners modified it to ignition power.

Newer Škodas turn on power after the ignition is turned on, but keep it active until you pull the key. But Felicia doesn't have ignition barrel output for that.

Here in GR (back in those years were the radio/cassette was optional) the electrician was asking you: ''do you want the radio Off the switch or On?" which means ''do you want to turn-on the radio itself or after you turn the switch in 1st scale?"

The benefit was that you could hear music when the car was off (waiting in a parking lot, siting with your girlfriend in the sunset etc) but the drawback was that it was pulling current straight from the battery and some guys forgot it open all night and the next morning the battery was low and couldn't start the car.
