Higher mileage 1.5 TSi

Featured Replies

With the MkIV now being 5 or 6 years old I'm wondering how people are getting on with higher mileage vehicles? I've got a 21 plate with 50,000 on the clock but a change in circumstances means I'm going to be doing 15-20k a year from now on.

Who's running a high mileage 1.5 TSi and how are they getting on with it? I had a 1.4TSi MkIII previously which did 106,000 in 9 years, I changed it when it needed a new clutch.

My 70-plate estate is a couple of hundred miles short of 70,000; 65k of which in the last 4 years.

Mechanically never missed a beat; on today’s 200 mile journey from Bicester to N Wales, pretty much all motorway and dual carriageways at legal limits, it returned 60.8 mpg (2 up and a full boot).

Its on variable service interval, with Long Life oil, which in practice has been about 19k intervals, all done at main dealer.

Over 110.000miles on mine. Engine is the best part. Can't say the same about the interior. Rattles everywhere
