Mobile phone power supply in a Fabia

Featured Replies

:drive: Hi chaps, i'm new to this, so please forive if this is in the wrong area.

I am fitting a Cark91 to my wifes fabia. The handbook states that fuse 18 is for a mobile phone. Fuse 18 aleady has a fuse in it, is their already a power feed wired in the car, if there is where is it located? If not where have you guys taken the feed from for your mobile kit? Have you gone back to the battery or elswhere. Any advise is gratefully received.

Thanks

Dougal, make sure you're loking at the FuseBox diagram the right way around. The pic in the Octy manual is for a LHD car, and you nead to look at it backwards to make sense of it for a UK car.

I don't know about the Fabia, but it may / may not be the same ;)

Oh, and welcome to Briskoda

Welcome Dougal :)

the easiest place is probably from the stereo head unit. If you have the original Skoda HU or an aftermarket one, you should be able to tap into the ISO connectors that feed it and get a 12V line off that.

I wouldn't bother going all the way through to the battery - from experience, it involved lots of cursing and bald knucles by the time you've fed a wire through ;):D

Hi Neo_VR

Yes you are correct, Greenmount near Bury.

Thanks for your response, incidentally do you know where the OBDII socket is fitted on your Fabia, I have not come across yet :eyecrazy: it on ours. I want to check for any fault codes when I have finished the car kit.

Thanks

Dougal
