Function temporarily restricted due to battery budget (B1915F1 error code)

Featured Replies

Anyone come across that error code? It has happened to my car twice this week. When the fault occurs it annoyingly affects the infotainment system. It takes ages to boot up “ loading settings “ when you get into the car. Also you can’t access the car via the Sloda app when the code is active.

I read somewhere it might be the SOS back up battery going faulty ? Anyone else have this problem?

I would suggest charging your 12V battery before anything else, once done clear the code then take the car out on a (decent) run. If it comes back after that then it'll need further investigation...

The car had a lot of driving this week including a round trip to the UK from Ireland. Voltage reads good anything between 12.6-7v.

Have you tried clearing the code?

Yep. It came up Tuesday. I cleared it. All ok yesterday and came back today. Cleared it again and so far hasn’t returned .

Quick google and it seems it was a common fault on the 2021 Golf, with mention of a faulty (telematics?) control module...

From my own personal experience, I'd be keen to do more digging before believing that. Just recently I had an airbag light triggered by a flat battery that by all accounts showed up as a faulty control module. Turns out the module software needed updating to the latest version, once this was done, the light turned off and over a month later it hasn't returned...

Since i bought the car new i have had that code come up every so often. I haven’t had it for a while until this week. It’s the first time it’s come up twice in the one week. Maybe it’s part of our typical octavia glitches.

Do you know if your software (across all modules) is up to date?

Interestingly these two new codes appeared today never had them before. However there were no malfunctions. Everything working fine.
