Octavia Mk2 Vrs rear brakes

Featured Replies

Evening all, hope you’re all well!

Does anyone know if the rear discs on a VRs Tdi mk2 come off without taking the calliper carrier off?

I’m a mechanic, so I know what I’m doing, I just wanna know if it’s a half hour jobby or if those damn carrier bolts have to come out.

Thanks

On my MK2 FL L&K 1.8TSI I had to remove the carriers to get the discs off.

It took an entire day to undo the 2 carrier bolts (2 days to do the rear discs) so if the discs could be removed without removing the carriers I would have done it.

On my 2010 RS, I had to remove the brackets; they're very difficult to unscrew. I ended up replacing the discs, calipers, and brake lines, the ones that screw into the caliper
