Columbus stereo turned to German

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Having trouble with my Columbus head unit in my 2011 Skoda Octavia vrs.

The language has changed to German and the car seems to have no audio at all. (Radio, Bluetooth audio and phone) when I try to change the language on the unit back to English it comes up with an error and just freezes on that message (in German)

Is anyone able to help with solutions to this?

Thanks,

Chris

I have a Bolero radio but my fix for anything related to the radio is to remove the supply for a few seconds. Always works.

The radio has two supplies - one permanent and one through the ignition. So with the ignition switched off remove the fuse for the permanent supply for 30 seconds and then put back in. In my car car the fuse in question is in the fusebox near the battery but look in your handbook to find your location. It may be shown as radio if your lucky.

Hey Chris, same thing happened with our 2011 Octavia Scout, a few years ago now. The only fix was to remove it and replace with a cheap Ali-Express head unit.
It runs on android, has wireless carplay etc, came supplied with the correct canbus connection to the car so displays all aircon adjustments, door openings, etc, feels very OEM (even has Skoda logo displayed when booting up!) and looks great, wish I had done it sooner, makes the car feel so much more modern inside!
The best upgrade you can do I think.
