How to remove the front bumper on a VRS

Featured Replies

I neen some repairs nas paint work doing on my fornt bumper and in an attempt to reduce costs was considdering removing the bumper myself and then re-fitting it once the repairs have been done.

Can anyond tell me whats involved in removing the front bumber on a Fabia vRS, and what tools are required?

i'd leave it on to get the paint work done , less chance of you damaging the freshly painted bumper when you put it back on , you would be gutted wouldn't you , i dont think its too difficult to get off though , someone will be along shortly to tell you no doubt

4 torx in each arch,2 torx infront of radiator, 4 under the car, and three 'popper' panel fastenings, slide the bumper off and disconnect wiring to fogs/temp sensor, 15 minutes it took and not even going hard at it.

usual haynes manual statement, but refitting is the reverse.

Part of the installation of the Forge FMIC involves removing the front bumper. Here are the fitting instructions which includes pictures and a step by step guide of how to remove the bumper.

pretty easily done - my first time last weekend. Only couple of pointers:

the centers of the plastic 'poppers' are easily pushed into the underneath and are a pain to locate again.

re-attaching the outmost bits (that you pull off after removong all the fastners) are a bit of a pain to get back on later - must be an order to re-attaching them.
