iPhone and the inability to use car speaker when taking calls 🥴🥴🤔

Featured Replies

Is anyone else having this issue ? I didn’t have any problem doing this with my mk3 , But I seem to be unable to receive calls through the stereo’s speakers via my IPhone 12

2021 SETechnology 🤔🤔🤔🤔

Do you have the iPhone set up for Bluetooth or CarPlay? And is it fully updated?

OK. Must admit I have only ever used my iPhone in CarPlay mode, though my wife's connects (at the same time) by Bluetooth and her incoming calls come in through the car Infotainment System & speaker.

If you go to the Infotainment Mobile Devices app you should see something like the image below, with the icons alongside a device showing the features enabled.

Does your iPhone work OK as a media source (e.g. music, audiobook, etc. playback)?

I'd recommend using CarPlay for your iPhone if you can (but acknowledge that the car can only have one CarPlay or AndroidAuto device connected at any one time (but a second via Bluetooth)).

Using CarPlay, it's easy to initiate calls using Siri.

After playing about a bit longer I have managed to get it working thanx for your help 👍🏻

I use Bluetooth and not Carplay and don't have a problem. I also use the iphone for navigation and the spoken instructions come through the car's speakers.
