Trip counter?

Featured Replies

New 26 plate Fabia Hatch SE Edition 1.0 TSI 116 PS DSG

Anyone know how to find and/or reset a trip counter with this all-digital interface?

No wee button to press now!

Can't find it anywhere and no mention at all in the user manual.

Can set MPG per trip but that's not really the same.

Thanks for any insight or help.

Thanks but can't get to that without a login.

Can you summarise?

Can you summarise?

Look at your right hand wiper stalk and play about with the rocker button on it's edge whilst looking at your cockpit display with ignition on.

Alternatively it may be a wheel on the right hand side of the steering wheel that can be pushed in and scrolled in conjunction with the left and right buttons underneath

Or on the entertainment screen

Is there a problem logging in to Skoda to get access to your handbook

Thanks for trying to help.

First .... I wouldn't know where to log in to Skoda.

I access the user manual from a 'welcome to skoda' email I got when I purchased the car.

I input the VIN number and the manual comes up.

When I use the scroll wheel on the right of the steering wheel there is no mention of Trip Counter or Odometer, which is why I ask here.

There is also nothing in the infotainment screen that is applicable.

As said initially I can see how to reset the MPG but see no way of simply resetting the trip mileage.

If I reset the MPG to 'from start' that reading is deleted after each trip.

When I go on holiday, or a trip away, I like to set zero the mileage when I start and take the full reading when I get back.

With the way this MPG is set up the readings are deleted after each leg of the trip.

All I need is what has always been available on non-digital dashboards .... a wee button to reset.

Not a lot to ask?

have you tried pushing the scroll wheel?

Yup.

Tried every combination I can find.

Will just have to do it the old fashioned way with a paper and pencil.

Anyone remember them?

Reset the long term, it only goes up to 9,999 anyway so isn't since built. so you could use that for a holiday trip there and back?

in the digital handbook you access with your email it's here

Thanks.

I'll try that.

I presumed that would be from when the car was new.

Online Skoda Owner's Manuals can be found here

https://www.skoda.co.uk/apps/manuals/Models

and the most recent English-language Manual for Fabia Mk4 cars has a 'Production period' of 2026/3 and the Manual that downloads has an Issue date of 30.3.2026

A downloaded Owner's Manual has a search capability (click on magnifying-glass symbol at the top of the homepage) and searching for trip counter in the 30.3.26 Manual directs to "Settings" in the Virtual Cockpit" section.

As my 2024 Fabia does not have the Virtual Cockpit (VC) I cannot check what those actions actually do. But when earlier Fabia Mk 4s like mine had the the (optional) VC, the trip-related guidance in the Manual matched the image above.

Thanks but mine doesn't have the virtual cockpit.

Try this:

  1. On the touchscreen, press the "Car" button (car icon)

  2. Go to Settings

  3. Select "Instrument Cluster"

  4. Scroll to the "Reset Trip Recorder" option

  5. Confirm reset

Thanks but those options are not on mine.

Are you sure?

I think your Fabia has the smaller "Bolero" (non-navigation) infotainment display-screen, whereas my Fabia has the larger "Amundsen" (navigation) unit.

If I follow zzee's advice I get a list of instrument cluster menu options, but these do not include trip-resetting UNLESS I scroll the screen down when two extra options appear that allow short and long trip data to be reset.

Thanks again.

Found it at last.
