Hi All... magazine feature help needed

Featured Replies

Hi there, glad to be on board

I'm a freelance journo with a commission for a job for Retro Cars magazine. They want to do a tuning guide for the Skoda Estelle and as an owner of such a beast... see http://follymotorsport.org.uk for pics (previous owner's website), I got the gig.

Basically I'm trying to kill two birds with one stone here, by writing the feature I should find out lots of info to improve my car (it looks faster than it goes at the moment!)... but am having trouble finding any ammo!

Can any of you guys recommend books, websites, or other resources for me to find out how to upgrade and improve these cars?

Any help would be gratefully received

Cheers

Marc

Heard you the first time, Jon. :P

Not much on here, but I know of a thread in the motoring section of talkaudio.co.uk where someone's got an Estelle with a turbo supra engine in it, or something of that derivation.

As Jon has mentioned - Ian Jones of Team BouncingCzech is a very good person to chat to. Hes been having fun in the various cars including Ermintrude for a while on the East Midlands rally rounds...

Thanks for that, I'll check those out...

PS I do know how to spell... honest (featue!!!)

featue fixed. :)

The late lamented Cars and Car Conversions did an article on tuning one to the John Haugland rally spec, which revved out at 120mpg in 5th.
