My wife has mentioned that if she parks centrally in a parking bay using the rear camera when she gets out she finds the car is about 200mm to one side.

I haven’t looked yet but I'm wondering if the camera hasn't been mounted quite right?

And by coincidence her sister has just bought a new T-Cross, having had one before so used to it and the rear camera, and says the camera is putting her on the kerb when parallel parking.

Anyone else experienced this or heard of this problem?

My Fabia Mk4 does not have a reversing camera and - as the Hyundai i20 that preceded it had one - I miss it!

I never checked the i20's camera system for accuracy, but I don't recall ever relying on it for reversing into a tight place. I like to think that Its guide-lines were reasonably correct or I would have noticed (maybe!)

I would have thought that - like fitting a telescopic-sight to a rifle - a reversing-camera system will need re-calibration if it's found to be inaccurate.

Not a big deal as she uses the mirrors most of the time and the camera for checking if something is directly behind, but if you have something you want it to be working correctly.

Trouble is she is envious of the 360 degree camera in my car! Whilst I've managed fine with using just the mirrors it really is useful with an SUV where the rear view is poor. Now I've had it I wouldn't want another big car/SUV without it. My other car only has rear sensors though.

It's a few months before a service is due but we will mention it then.
