Error Codes

Featured Replies

just bought a used 1.9TDi Ambience with a 1 month warranty and 6 months to its next service.:)

Is it worth taking it to a Skoda garage to see if there any warning/error codes being reported before the warranty runs out? The salesman said that there cant be any otherwise there would be an indicator on the dash lit up - is he right?

If you can afford to - or have access to VAG-COM. And the salesman is wrong. Some engine associated faults trigger the warning light on the first occurrence, and of the others on the second, and many if not all of the other electronic control units don't trigger faults at all.

Nope, he is wrong :)

Everytime my car goes into service the fault codes are checked and cleared. And always I have the same (17705) message which does not show up on the dash.

As long as the car runs fine, wait until the service is due... or find yourself someone local to you who has a VAG COM.
