What on earth is going on with Skoda main dealers?

Featured Replies

think we should have a section for dodgy dealers so at least we could check to see if your local one is listed .... what do u think ???

Problem is Staff change often, and the whole place can be different. My local dealer has ranged from absolutely awful and dman right rude to quite helpful and varying bits inbetween over the two years I've had my car. Hey, even the clothes I've been wearing have affected how I was treated.

A permanent 'score' on a dealer would go out of date quicker than a yoghurt in the sun. And then you could be giving a good dealer a bad rep, or a bad dealer high praises.

Pesonally, I couldn't care how expensive a dealer is, thats a problem to deal with when you actually choose to buy/pay for whatever you're doing. But when my dealer has been crap and rude it's before I have even asked or seen a price. It's general enquiries and suchlike. Which simply isn't acceptable. Even McDonalds employees would be fired for speaking to customers like that. If it's a lack of training problem, then train them. There's no excuse for being rude. In reality there's no excuse for being bad at your job, and thats what they are.

Receptionist isn't an easy job, but its the most visible job, a bad receptionist will cost a company far more than you think. So it needs to be the best employee you can get. Not someone who is unhelpful or rude.

I don't care if my local dealer is a family run business, franchise or whatever. Its the 1st line between me and Skoda regarding my car. If they look bad then in my eyes Skoda look bad. Which is neither good for me nor Skoda. If Skoda UK are letting them use their name then they should expect a standard of service. If it's not provided by EVERY dealer then Skoda UK should be getting upset and applying some pressure.

Do Skoda head office read this website? If so , then they ought to be ashamed at how they have treated the smaller dealerships , most of whom they have lost in the last 3 years , due to totally unreasonable requests , for instance , my delaer was asked to spend £25K of his own money to modify their Skoda showroom so it had the same floor tiles , wall style and ceiling style of all the other Skoda showrooms all over the country , but the guy who has the garage is in his 60s , so he declined , Skoda told him that if he didnt do the work he would no longer be able to be a sales dealer , so he said 'fine' , and now he is service/warranty only! Skoda have proper shot themselves in the foot because whilst they did sell the cars , they sold hundreds of em , and a little town like mine ended up looking like Czech republic , there was that many Skodas about!

Well I took my car in to be looked at by the dealer today. After having a quick chat with each other they told me that the only way to lower the beam on my Xenon's was to buy headlight protectors and fit beam benders to them! I am now at a loss. How is it that not one dealership in a 50 mile radius can adjust these lights!? It's a complete disgrace.
