I am considering a Mk4 Octavia (2025 onwards probably) and would prefer to have a spare wheel with it. I've had a 2016 Mk3 Octavia since new and used the spare wheel two of three times. I believe that the wheels are universal, i.e. that I could use the spare wheel in my current Mk3 on a Mk4. It's sold as a space saver but its a 16" 205 so plenty big enough.
I believe I can just save buying one in the replacement car but would be good to confirm. Any thoughts?

The wheel will fit. Is the 10 year old tyre OK, and as far as being big enough is it pretty much the same circumference as on the Mk4?
