Driving south on the UK's M1 motorway at around Watford Gap Services there were numerous warning beeps and messages over a couple of minutes - Assistance services unavailable, front assist not available, ACC not available, auto main beam not available and cornering lights not available. All this happened very soon after a red "drowsy" alert. Anyway, I carried on, leaving the motorway at Junction 15, heading for Milton Keynes. I did turn off the ignition breifly and restart, but to no avail. 10 minutes later, another beep and all the systems started working again. Is this a feature? Was the system software updating itself? Has anyone else expererienced anything like this?

Out of interest, what were the weather conditions at the time? I've found that the sensors/cameras which provide the input to all the 'assist' systems are far more susceptible than they ought to be to moisture, condensation, etc.

That’s interesting. I recently posted an account of my car performing a sudden emergency stop while travelling at 70mph in the centre lane of the M20. It braked hard, locked the steering, came to a full stop and turned off the engine. I hadn’t given it much thought until you mentioned it but the common factor with your incident is that I too had the drowsy/take a break message just a few minutes before my incident. I wonder if it’s related 🧐

As a result of my incident I sold the Superb as I felt we had had a lucky escape, might not be so lucky next time. Picked up my new car this morning…
