Hi guys,

When adjusting my blower motor speed I only have 2 out of the 3 blower speeds, when I turn the dial what I get is at: -

0, the blowers off

1, what seems to be speed 2

2, speed 2

3, speed 3

So it’s not drastic but I would like to have speed 1 just blowing lightly. Do I need to replace a resistor (is there one?) if so where is it and which one if not is it a motor or switch issue?

It's 1.9D, right?

Those use different heating from Favorit, so I'm not familiar with it. But you should be able to locate the resistor pack in the engine bay, following wires from the motor.

There are two bimetal contacts that appear to short the resistors if they overheat. It's possible that the one for 1st speed got stuck.

I’ve had a look in the engine bay and the only thing that side of the firewall is what I would consider the motor for the blower (the bit to the right of centre) but if some could confirm this I would appreciate it?

Yep, that's the blower motor.

I dug up the service manual, the resistor pack is on the side of the heater box, right behind the blower fan. (Part marked with 8 on the pic below)

You can see wires from the motor leading to it.
