How do i stop the Felicia scraping its door handles?

sorry, i meant cold rolled bar!!!!

forgiven.

i get i wrong more than anyone.

I must admit that lessening understeer was acutualy what inspired me to investigate this modification in the first place and having now driven 50-60 miles cross country on Sunday I can report that the standard A.R.B.s replacement by a sturdier item does indeed not only reduce understeer, but also roll during extreme cornering. Power can now be fed to the road up to and beyond the point where the front suspension would have been crushed and wheelspin would occur leading to an intidy and rather hairy exit. The vehicles' stance during all this is much flatter now and inspires confidence, although overall still being rather bouncy and vague as I found when I pulled out of one of those junctions where you just can't see and in the end have to go. An old boy in a Xsara latched on to my bumper and chased me all the way to Crowborough without, seemingly much effort; although the man in front always does the majority of the work. This served to remind me that I'm basically driving something designed to go to the shops, not the track. 75hp still seems about as much as I'd want to put through this chassis, especially in this state of development. Now, if only the throttle were a little sharper, the A.B.S. a little less eager and I could contort myself enough to heal and toe, or is that just asking too much?

Prob asking a bit much lol!

Might look into the better arb strut for mine, have to weigh up the cost!

the car handles much better when its being ragged. i'm on my second felicia now. had a 1.3 and now got a 1.6. both have been a bit funny to drive at "normal" speeds. but as soon as you start getting them sidewase, what a car!!!!

i must admit, if you wona put more power to the wheels. you realy do need to get some better/wider tyers and lower it.

my 22mm anti roll bar still hasen't arrived, dam them main dealers

:iagree:

it always annoys me that vw can normally get parts overnight but you have to wait 2/3 days froma skoda dealer.....

unless of course the parts are onback order, in which case sometimes you can wait months:O

Mine took a couple of weeks to arrive, having been lost in transit (or perhaps in a Transit) once and then re-ordered from Germany.

ha, gave up on the skoda dealer months ago. he said he cant get it full stop.

ordered mine from vw. they said 7 to 10 days. that was 11 days ago, and no sign

:finger:i hate main dealers!!!!! :finger:

right. got the arb at last. now just got to fit it.

can anyone tell me were's the best place to put the axel stands?

dont fancy doing this job with just jacks.

and, lastly. i'm getting realy strange feed-back through the steering wheel. it goes realy light (like under stear) and then heavy. but its totaly un-predictable. i had the tracking done couple of monthes ago, and thay messed it up abit and it pulles slightly to the left and the wheel sits to the right. could this be the problem?????

put the axle stands under the outer sills, DONT do it with just jacks, some of the bolts will be f-ing tight and if you try to undo really tight bolts it might cause the car to slip off, besides you should never go under an unsupported car anyway

if you steering is doing funny stuff like that. make sure your suspension bushes aren't worn out

ok. how the hell do i jack the car up on the jack points (sills) and put the stands there????? thats were i would like to put them, but someone who had the car befor me has tried to put the stands next to the jack points, and crushed the sills. there must be somewere elts to put them?????

bushes seem fine. took it out tonight and was getting masses if under stear when powering out of turns in 2nd and 3rd, some times 4th aswell. as for the faster turns, as the car leans round the courner it dosent feel like the tyers are guna dig in, but then just as i start $hitting it and making a mess of me pants, the tyers dig in and it rales fine??????????????????????

a good place to jack it up is using the rear track control arm mounting bracket, then when it's up high enough put the axle stand under the sill jacking point

is that were the rear beam is fixed to the body????

sorry for the blunt reply befor, trying to mod a car is not easy.

hang on... i've got a picture somewhere in the deepest darkest archives... let me see if i can find it

you got it yet???? he he

no i cant find me felicia pictures cd yet..... i'll get back to you

  • 3 months later...

My front tyres are now quite feathered and I'd apreciate any opinions as to a possible replacement brand, tyre life not being a consideration as I drive so little.

yoko's

I have run my felicia's on cheap brands, and goodyears - depends on what you want, and the amount of cash you have to spend
