the good old front bumper paint issue

Featured Replies

Just got back from the bodyshop, they stripped down and repainted the bumper. I'm well happy with it:

There's one or two bits where you can obviously tell its been resprayed, but you'd be hard pushed to notice unless you're actually looking for it:

As to adhere to s*d's law I managed to get my first stonechip on the way home, but all in all it's back to new:

Nice job done there. Went back into the dealers today to see if they had heard back from SUK and they said they were having a two week turn around from submission to decision so told me to leave it for a couple of weeks. Can there be any truth in this...2 weeks!!!

The story goes on...

its been a month for mine glos vrs so i took it to a different dealer as i think they were taking the yellow liquid out of me a bit,

MORT is there any noticable difference between what was painted and what wasnt, i dont think mine has faded as its only thre years old but dont want it to look too obvious that its been painted

Colour wise it's spot on. Mine's 3 years old and has never been garaged in the 2 years I've had it, but the new paint looks exactly the same colour. I'd assume the red will be the hardest test as well, being the easiest colour to fade.

To be honest if I didn't know it was resprayed, and wasn't going to lie on the floor to check all the seams, then I'd never know it wasn't the same bumper they put on at the factory at birth.

The two links on the words 'Here'. One is a stonechip thats dented the bumper and where its been sprayed over its still got the dent. The other is a small overspray that could easily be removed with some wet and dry paper or a knife. Nothing major. You can only see if you look closely.
