fabia accelerator pedal???

Featured Replies

does anybody know if the accelerator pedal on a fabia can be modified to accept a cable operated throttle or was there a real early version which didn't have drive by wire wich can be retrofitted?

What model?

What model?

???? err fabia, they are all the same aren't they???

Wasn't sure if they were all DBW and there must be huge differences between a 1.4 8v and a PD130.

The throttle system is tied into a lot of of other systems and I doubt this would be possible.

yes i know it's linked to the ecu and throttle body, but i've been given a broken 2001 fabia today. subframe broken and stuffed engine caused by loosing the oil because it smashed the sump on somthing. i can feel a stripped out (incuding dashboard and everything) project coming on. and i just wondered if there was a way i could use an engine with a cable operated throttle rather than drive by wire, because i've got a agu coded engine sat in my garage doing nothing.

1.8 T

You know it makes sense:thumbup:

the trouble is finding a gearbox that will fit the engine, and fit the engine bay. obviously the 02t box would be ideal but the ones that will fit the 2.0/1.8t are quite hard to come by in breakers yards.

02J or 02R will fit the 1.8T and fit in the Fabia engine bay no problems.

No Fabia was cable operated on the accelerator.
