Fuel Filter 1.3 Felicia

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have a question, that is: -

IS there a fuel filter on the 1.3MPi Felicia?? I just rang the dealer for the part, so my mate can fit it for me and they do not have one listed, but they do for the 1.6 version.

So I am wondering if the 1.3 doesn't have one :S or do I have to get the 1.6 version as it is the same part fior both cars???

Any light you guys can shed on this will be greatfully recieved :D

Q

on the felicia the fuel filter hides under the car and fits snugly inside the rear axle beam, if you buy one be sure to replace the hose clips as well. i imagine the 1.3 and 1.6 have the same filter.

See how the friendship holds up - it's a pig of a job to replace it.

Yes it has a fuel filter but it is very awkward to fit.It is infront of the fuel tank, above the exhaust pipe. You have to remove a heat shield and swing the exhaust sideways then undo its mounting clip.

Its possible to do it yourself, my Dad and I did it on Sunday. You'll need a pair of angled nose pliers to undo the spring clips, an 8mm spanner for the bolts that hold the heatshield on, WD40 to make everything come apart a bit easier, and some jubilee clips to swap for the spring clips. Also try removing the other rubber pipe up there to make access easier, but make sure you have something to clamp it shut with as it appears to drain the tank, a mole wrench worked for us. I think it took about 30 mins to get the new one on and about 2hours to get the old one off, but that'd be a lot shorter with the angled pliers.

the best way to relieve the fuel pressure is take out the fuse for the fuel pump and crank the engine over on the starter.
