Buying in the Essex area

Featured Replies

I've checked out the review section and found a few random postings on the subject, but is there anywhere about in Essex where I can look at a few good used Skodas where the garage is fairly good and/or trustworthy? Need to find myself something in the next few days!

I think the new dealership in Basildon is called JCB, they are at the old MG Rover dealership on the old Yardley's site, next to the Outback Steakhouse.

People on here have only had good things to say about them so far.

Don't know where you are in Essex, but Transcity Autos are a good dealership in Walthamstow. Got SWMBO's Fabia there and was very impressed. One of the good older style family dealers.

Yep, can give JCB a

Farther-in-law bought his Superb from there.

Just about to pop by JCB and see what they have on offer!

Popped in and was seen by a guy called Paul, insulted me a little by only offering £700 for my fiesta (I was expecting an extra 1 in front of the 7 thank you very much, no matter how dirty it was!) and then I gave him an idea of my budget and the only car he had to offer was 3k higher (since my budget is about 5-6k that's not an inconsiderable amount!)

Hopefully he'll get back to me with a decent deal, I'm only really in the market for a decent 5-6k machine, I guess I'm probably going to have to go private though as he didn't give me much hope of finding a car of the age I'm looking for!

Nice people though, felt he was being brutally honest rather than playing me about. Since I'm a salesman myself I appreciate that attitute = )
