Fabia electric window regulator parts?

Featured Replies

OK a long shot but... Has anybody got a spare passenger side electric window regulator off a Fabia and if so would they part with one of the white plastic brackets that the cables and the window holder attach to? :)

I've been struck by the dreaded broken clip problem and have been quoted an extortionate price by the dealers for the whole regulator rather than just the part I wanted (well there's a surprise!). Took the interior panel off yesterday to bodge a fix (piece of timber!) and realised I only need the plastic bit.

Also... Does anyone have a similar white plastic bracket off the door lock that the locking indicator rod fits in that they could again part company with (guess who broke it while trying to re-fit the inner door skin! )

Cheers

PM yashicamat , hes in the process off getting one changed on his Fabia comfort , but a garage is doing it so he may not get the old parts back , worth a try though

Id be suprised if it isnt the same part that is bust, pretty common.

Skoda only supply the regualtor as a whole so it aint the dealers fault.

he said to me iirc that the cable had gone and tangled up , didn't think the clips would be broken , though not sure

What tends to happen is the clip breaks, the cable then comes off and gets wrapped around the motor spindle.

Drop skospares.com a line. They sorted me out with a piece of missing trim after I redid the interior of my car for the cost of a SAE

Cheers for the replies guys. I'll try Yashicamat (you never know!). I've also tried Skospares and they only do the full inner door skin which is half the price of the regulator from Skoda but they have none in at the moment (like rocking horse **** apparently).

Also I know it's not the dealers fault but apparently this has been a big problem across the VW range and they have now released a metal replacement part but for the american market only (no doubt due to the yanks shouting loudly) so I would have thought that it should be available.

It's just frustrating as recently we've had to have the clutch pedal fixed twice, the steering angle sensor replaced, the wiring to the alternator repaired (also resulting in the need for a new battery) and now this, all of which are apparently common VW faults! I know it's got nearly 100k on the clock but it's cost me a fortune and all when we were thinking of replacing it with an Octy Estate... I may go Japanese again now as I had no such problems with my last Mitsubishi which had far more mileage on it and was twice the age!

#1 post on Briskoda and I'm whining like..... like my front passenger window actually.

The first time it broke, I was a typical female and thought "how nice of them to fix it". (It was in warranty).

It went again 100 miles from home and has been taped up for a few weeks. The motor's grand, if whiney, but the glass won't shut.

I'm glad to find the site, because my local garage are going to service & fit the regulator. I was sooo sceptical when the mechanic told me he'd to order a whole new panel, but it seems he was just being honest. I'd reiterate other people's comments in that if it's an intrinsic fault, Skoda should sell the metal clip version in Europe, and should certainly retrofit it to all in-warranty cars.

Between that and my leaky coolant reservoir, I'm muttering at my poor car these mornings.
