Hi guys I was on the ukspeedtraps website and saw an article on a mobile phone based Road Angel and thought anyone looking for a speed camera detector may be interested. I've emailed them to find out some more info so will report back once they get back to me. It looks like it's for symbian enabled phones and works with a bluetooth GPS receiver.

The website is: http://www.roadangelmobile.co.uk/ if you wanted to find out for yourself.

Could be an interesting idea all dependent on cost of course. On ukspeedtraps it says subscription is billed to your phone weekly so I guess you can update as much as you want as long as you pay.

Anyway just thought I'd let you know

Just an update as I got a reply back after asking about costs and compatibility. It's going to be made available for all Nokia S60 second edition phones, e.g. 6630, 6260, N70, N91 etc you can find out if your's is by looking on symbian.com. They never gave a cost but just said it will be billed weekly via text service so I guess something like how jamster works. Also apparently the website will be updated soon.

I've got the Nav 6000 already so wouldn't need this but could be an idea for a second car. The website still isn't updated though.

TomTom mobile also has the ability to add GPS points/overlays of camera locations. It then warns you as you approach them.

Well I got a reply from them and it'll be compatible with all Nokia S60 second edition phones ( a list can be seen on symbian.com) and subscription will charged via text service weekly, not sure on cost yet though. Just thought I'd keep you updated like I said.
