Octy RS front bumper mod

Featured Replies

Hello to you all and (shortly) I wish you all a happy new year

Whilst browsing I came across a Skoda picture while looking at the New Octavia First Pictures post elsewhere on this site. So see below.

Anyway - do my eyes deceive me or does this have the lower half of the front number plate recess removed to create an extra big intake - number plate would them be relocated to the right (as you look at it) as per Mitsubishi Evo WRC thingy-bob.

Has anybody out there tried this - I think it looks pretty smart, but presumably there is a big lump of angle iron behind the mould plastic bumper that would need to be modified.

Any thoughts?

Lee

Paul (ffelan) has done this to his red vRS. Takes a bit more than a Dremel though ;)

I think he used the mains powered Dremel, as opposed to the cordless ;)

I thought he'd just taken out the centre grille section from the bumper? The number plate mount is still in place, though the plate itself last I saw was mounted in the windscreen... :D

That'll be an angle grinder then?

Ooooh Look !!

Clicky !

Looking at the picture closely and trying to get a decent contrast on this POS laptop screen, it looks like they have just cut off the mount altogether. Which I'd be willing to wager is just a plastic of sorts, and could be removed using a jigsaw...

Plasma cutter is your best bet as you need to chop the crash bar for the full effect, or just don't re-fit it.

The plastic is OK to cut with a dremmel or a jigsaw.
