  1. 1. What would you do?

    • Refurb Octy vRS alloys back to Original silver
      7
    • Refurb Octy vRS alloys back to Light Grey
      10
    • Change to new RS6 style alloys
      10

I have kerbed 2 of my 17" Octy vRS Alloys and I'm thinking about a change.

I do like them but the question is do I get them refurbed or change them to a different design. If I refurb, should I change the colour of the wheels. I like a light grey colour and I'm sure they will suit the Octy alloy.

Here's a pic of the colour I like on a Sportec Mono 10 wheel

I like the 17" RS6 style alloys and they are extremely easy to clean

The only thing I'm not sure about is how much they stick out of the arch, especially at the front.

Delcac has had that done to the alloys on his Octavia, look smart.

However, I dunno if it would look as good on a black car.

I'm in a similar position aswell having bent 1 of them and kerbing the rest.:thumbdwn:

Back on the original 16s atm and I'm actually starting to like them again.

Have thought about this on my Furby vRS (silver) as well as mirror polishing (obviously not at the same time!). However the alloys (Sportec?) are very nice.

I like your car with the Standard Octy rims it's very smart.

Choices...choices!

FAO Chowy - I've done a quick photoshop just to try and show you what the Octavia wheels would look like with a light grey finish.

I have included a picture of the car originally for you to compare. Personally, I MUCH prefer the standard silver finish.

Anthracite Seat sport 16" wheels on a black VRS.

Going to get these refurbed properly soon and start using them full time as opposed to just the track.

Thanks for the Photoshop Harry. I think that's a little too dark for my tastes.

I do like the silver finish too. Decisions.....

The Seat Sport wheel pics are close in colour to what I would like.

Similar finish also to the Cupra R alloys in the well used pic

However the alloys (Sportec?) are very nice.

One of my all time fave wheels but the smallest the come is 18x8.5 ET35 which I think would spoil the ride too much plus 215 tyres are too stretched with them on.

PS they cost an absolute fortune too :(

Forgot I had this pic. This is the colour I want.

I quite like those too.

I'm torn between 2 types of alloys - 17" VW Mk4 Golf Santa Monica's or New Audi RS4's.

The Santa Monica's are a direct fit, but if I can find some new RS4's in 17's with 5x100 PCD then I'll have them straight away!!

Yep. It's cos they're a machined finish & the lacquer ain't upto the job!

Best way to keep them looking good is to take the lacquer off, polish the spokes & then apply several coats of wax. Then reapply the wax every fortnight or so.

I was thinking about the new RS4's too. I have found a place that does 17x7.5 ET35 PCD100 if you're interested but they are around

  • 1 month later...

There is a Fabia local to me with RS4s on, they look mint.

Dont think said person is a member on here, and never waved at me... perhaps he was jealous of my 18" BBS...

I'll try and get a pic next time I see it parked up.
