Several Faults........

Featured Replies

A friend has been having problems with an Audi TT and has the following fault codes:

7 Faults Found:

17704 - Error in Mapped Cooling System (usually temp Sensor or Thermostat)

P1296 - 35-00 - -

17584 - Bank1: O2S (Lambda) Correction Behind Catalyst: Control Limit Reached

P1176 - 35-00 - -

16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

P0300 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

16687 - Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected

P0303 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

16686 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected

P0302 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

16685 - Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected

P0301 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

16688 - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected

P0304 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

The car is standard incidentally.

The 17704 comes on almost straight away but the misfire codes are only when the cars been driven for a bit.

Reckon a new green temp sensor will clear the 17704? Does anyone have a part number?

Is it 030 and 036 which test the 02 sensor? What values are we looking for?

Is it possible the codes are linked?

What about the coil packs?

if its had a misfire for a long time it could of wrecked the cat , that maybe why the O2 sensor code is there

I thought about the coil packs but is it not a bit unlikely for all 4 to fail simulatneously?

Yes I guess if the mis was that bad the cat could be damaged, does anyone have any figures to compare to and well run a check

If it's like most of the other VAG group motors the engine electrics will be connected by a large black round plug. I have seen these with water ingress before.
