Does anyone know where I can get a silver/carbon surround for my console where the Climate Control knobs are.

Car: 2006 Octavia 2.0TDI Elegence

I have seen this in a Octavia vRS and it looks like there is space for the facia to snap straight in. As i already have silver stips on the door cards and accross to glovebox would finish it off nicely !

I have asked the parts department if they can supply this as a replacment as if i had a vRS. Awaiting call back

You can get your existing bits processed in carbon or alu-loo etc.

Cheers for that - I dont currently have a surround its just plain black plastic. If you look closely just above the Air con dials you can see a few recesses that look like the facia would just snap in place.

The facia does just pop off.

Open up the ashtray, pull from the bottom and the ease the sides up.

A vRS panel would be a straight swap.

I did mine with silver spray paint and clear laquer. Had to experiment with a couple of different silver finishes until a good match was found.

I have a Octavia II Elegence and I'm pretty sure it has no trim around the Air Con dials, will look later to see if the current one (if it exists) will snap off

Simply thought i could get a vRS facia and it would snap in place and would also match nicely with the current Carbon trim in the doors.

Did this part just go round the perimiter of the whole centre console (not including the air con section?

I am looking for the part that goes around the air con dials, I think it may be a seperate peice to the one you have just bought ?

The prt that goes around the air con dials is all one bit, goes up around the headunit etc. As does the vRS front panel.

Dash surround kits - the stick-on fabia ones come from a manufacturer in Germany.

You could try what I did... I only wanted 3 bits of the kit - the air vent surrounds, thus didn't want to buy a whole 15 or 20 piece kit of bits I'd never use... I wrote to the manufacturer directly, by email and told them I had been very silly and lost 3 parts of your kit, and could I please please buy replacements!

In my case they sent the three parts FREE - I think they took sympathy on me being humble in my email to say I felt stupid losing the bits, and my pigeon GSCE level self-taught German was a gesture, rather than just writing in English.

They wrote back in German, but very easy-to-understand German!

Thats the part as it comes from Skoda, the VRS one is a silver colour.

Cool - I wish i had access to this kind of diagram - is the part CD/DVD available, as I could spend hours browsing for whats next ?

Do you have a similar diagram / part for the car with Climate Control as the one above appears to be for standard air con ?
