Programming keys on Octavia MkII

Featured Replies

Hopefully someone can quide me in the right direction!!

I have programmed key on the earlier Octavia's but today I tried on the MkII with no success

on the old ones you would goto 17 (dash insert) then enter the four digit code, then enter channel 21 for the number of keys you want to programme.

I can get to the point where you should enter 21 but it will not reconise it.

is there a different procedure for programming MkII keys

Jas not looked it up but for a start I would have thought Octy II would be a 7 digit SKC mate.

The 7-digit SKC is an encrpyted version of the 4-digit one, every Skoda comes with it's 4-digit SKC on the key tag - so shouldn't be a problem to get that SKC.

The Octavia (1Z) uses IMMO-4 which is quite a bit different but the procedures are online for a while now:

What happened? Did you lose a key or just need an additional one?

I have got to renew the dash pod in which case I will have to programme the keys!

I thought it would have been the same procedure as the MkI but after reading on the ross tech site I realise I was wrong!!

Cheers

Octavia 2 doesnt use seven digit with VAS diag equipment.

For clarification again, it doesn't matter if you are using 4 or 7-digit SKC's. The 7-digit SKC is an encryted version of the 4-digit SKC. All Skoda models still come with their 4-digit SKC on the key tag.

For example, my old Golf MK3 came with a 4-dgiti SKC on the key tag:

As you can see the SKC was "1310", this one still works. When using GeKo today to retreive the SKC from the VW server, I would get a 7-digit SKC: "1213867" with IMP: 123, WSC 12345 and only valid for today (14.08.2006). When entering this 7-digit SKC into the diagnostic tool, it decrypts it back to "1310" and sends the "1310" to the immobilizer.
