The only thing I can think to say about this concept, is that no one's ever thought to put the engine in the boot of a luxo barge before. Although, i can't think of a single reason why you'd want to do that?!?

It's OK in a hunkered down sports coupe that needs good weight distribution to get through the twisties, but a limo? Hadaway!

I used to have the 907 as my wallpaper at Peugeot, then they made me redundant and for my last week I changed it to Shifty's octy.

Will never go into production as no one would buy it, like the 407 coupe.

it's amazing isn't it??? all those decades or cutting edge technical design, state of the art precision manufacturing, endless motorsport victories, and they still produce **** like that!!!

Why do people even waste time designing and drawing such things

It will never go to production and looks like a heap of sh.it.

I wouldn't be too certain on that one James. Peugeot have put some awful crap into production recently, the 407, the 307 and the 207 to name a few.

I can see this concept reaching production based on the fact that it looks 5hit, it's a 5hit idea, and will probably be built 5hit as well. the only differences i envisage are that it will come as standard without any sort of bodykit whatsoever, it will have plastic wheeltrims, and a bog standard 1.4 HDI engine (in the boot! tw@ts)

And ze french? Zey love it!

I think it looks good.

Looks alright.

part bmw part batmobile :thumbdwn:

Can't make me mind up on this :P Need to see it from more angles.

Its actually built on next years Peugeot entry in Le Mans, that's why the engine is where it is look here

Peugeot V12 HDi DPFS creates 700bhp and a road-rippling 885lb ft of torque.................just imagine the engine noise Mil

I think its pretty cool

Just imagine the repair bill or maybe it will be more reliable than the rest of the range

1 its only a computer aided modle.....and you got to appreciat that people are thinking out of the box and we will have to adapt to difernt types of design...just some pople are doing it wrong ie peugeot ...honda are getting there slowly....

i just think were all stuck with looking at things that are just simple 2headlamps a grill and 4 wheels with a 3box design. its only when you read stuff about what the designer had inteded to do...

it might have juts been a design study to maybe just see how the rear lights would look on a car...or pushing their design language further....

its not nessersarily that a concept has to make it to production but more of just trial and error...these cars will be taken to a motor show and then the potential customers would say what they liked...and what they didnt.:)

IT LOOKS FANTASTIC!!!!!

Major problem though...........................Its French.............and a Peugeot!!

I think it looks good.

yeh me too. Looks mean imo. :)

........just imagine the engine noise Mil

somthing like tak tak tak tak tak tak

why dont the french give up trying to design big limo/executive type cars , they are never going to compete with the germans so why bother attempting , just look at the abominations that Renault (velsatis) came out with a couple of years ago , that sank without trace , then Citroens XM which i remember seeing the sales figures for , 3 sold in a year iirc

does anybody remember seeing a citroen ds. top class vintage citroen at it's best.

Citroen%20Ds.jpg

beautifull car! ds or "day-ess" in french means godess.

looks like an ugly porsche XD

hmmmm, its not very good is it really, but as mentioned its just a CGI, so may look better in the metal?

The french used to build mental luxobarges, especially citroen-good to see them heading back towards that, and a 700hp diesel cant be all bad, can it?

700bhp & 800+ lb/ft of torque? Damned..that's a lot for a frenchy like that...should be able to rip UK and Euro roads to shreds given the fact they melt at 35 degrees...would be deadly to bring it here though, the extreme heat tolerated by our roads would only reverse the effect and probably blow the car up.

Personally, I really like it. We all accept that the cars we see every day are OK looking, but when they came out, we often just poo pood the shapes because they were new and different. Remeber the fuss about the Chris Bangle styled BMWs? Well we see plenty of them about and I suppose it is a love it or hate it kind of styling, but IMO better for it. Who wants to look at lines of almost identical "styled by commitee" clone cars anyway?

And why is the engine in the back? Well you have two ways to deploy that sort of torque. You can put layer upon layer of nannying electronics in charge of the drivetrain to limit power until the tyres can hook up, or you can put the engine over the driven rear wheel where it serves to shove the tyres into the road and aid traction. Once you drive mid or rear engined stuff, everything else seems nose heavy and has poor traction.

It is not a new idea either. Remeber Tatra anyone?

I like it. Would I have one though? Only with a really good warranty and only used, so the ususal big French car depriciation had already done its damage.

Some good points there I suppose. I really like the 5 series Bummer now in Msport trim, it looks really mean.

I never thunk of the weight of the engine allowing more traction on the rear wheels. Where on earth are you gonna put your golf clubs though?
