after having problems with a former skoda dealer and egr valve i went to Lightcliffe in Halifax this morning.

i gave them my reg. number and the computer said a new egr valve and lambada (sp) was fitted March 2005.i bought the car in June 2005 from the former skoda dealer but the engine management light came on a few weeks later, their Vag com said it was the egr valve and replaced it under warrenty (they said they relpaced it but Lightcliffe said it shouldn't break in just a few months).

Lightcliffe checked the car's computer this morning and found that the car had the wrong settings in it,so they updated all the software.

I thought buying from a former dealer they would have all the correct software but they couldn't have.

my advice to anyone now is to make sure you have the right software from an official dealer.

could save a lot of time plus it was done for free

i'll be returning in future to Lightcliffe for my servicing etc.

I am a recent convert to Lightcliffe Skoda myself albeit the Huddersfield garage, after receiving very poor service from the dealer who supplied my car, DM Keith Ltd.
