Could Anyone Tell Me What Polish They Find Best On Black Magic Paint, I Have Spent All Afternoon Using The Meguirs 3 Step System But The Wax At The End Leaves A Smear In The Paint Even Using Microfibe Cloth:) :) Any Advice Will Be Great

I don't own a black car (partly for this reason :P) but I know autoglym do a polish which you use after normal polish. It's a think liquid which you put on and leave about 30 minutes then polish off in the same way as normal wax. It's called extra gloss protection and is designed to avoid streaks and other marks associated with polishing dark cars. I've used it on several cars and it seems excellent but have never tried it on black paint.

You may be applying it too thickly.

A little goes a long way, and too much is a sod to remove.

I use Swissol and Chemical Guys XXX Hard Core Carnuba Wax:

Ps. You should always use a good wax after you polish your paintwork

OR

Are you getting confused between wax and polish

This site should help you:http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/guides.html

Are you using all 3 parts of the Megs polish/wax?

If so are you using the applicator pads? I used them and found they made a huge difference as to the amount of application (as Mr Grumpy said - "a little goes a long way").

I found the 3 step spot on (my car is also black) but as in all polishes, its a pig to get off the doorstrips etc!

I have also used the Auto-Glym gloss protection and that is also very good (especially if used with the polish)

zymol

Just looked up the prices:eek:

I guess it is very good stuff!

Have you tried the Meguirs microfibre cloths as well as applicators... and don't forget lots of elbow grease.

Zymol is very good but to be honest so are the other high end polishes / waxes like Megs etc. like many things, the Finish is only as good as the start, so prep is the key. I know Zymol seems a lot of dosh, but you get other things in the kit and it does last ages if used correctly. My kit was 100 quid, but you can spend 8 grand if you like. I've just had my Carbon Black (bluey tinge) M5 de-swirled by Ben on the bm3w forum and it looks like a different car.

I can't recommend www.polishedbliss.co.uk highly enough.

The online guides are really thorough and the products are excellent. My red Octy looks miles better now than it did when it was 'Life Shined'.

Agreed, Polished Bliss are excellent - a small but reliable supplier. They dont have that much choice but what they do have is good stuff at reasonable prices. Cant go wrong really.
