VRS engine management problems

Featured Replies

Hi

Got a new model vrs estate in April and have been having problems with my engine management system. Keeps detecting fault with exhaust stem when there isnt one and cutting engine power to a 'safe' level. Is anyone else experiencing this or am I just unlucky.

exhaust stem

Can you give us more to go on please and do you mean exhaust system

On starting the engine, the EPC light stays on quickly followed by the control system for exhaust gases warning light, consequently engine goes into the emergency programme. Has also happened while flying down the M23, wasnt a nice experience! Local dealer cant find a fault, they have cleaned up the earths and cleared the computer memory, it will then be OK for a couple of weeks, but will then return.

if they've cleared the PCM/computer memory , there should've been codes there pointing to a fault that required investigating , i think you need to get someone on here to put VAGCOM on it as the dealer doesn't seem that interested in your concern

Sounds like the Lambda sensor is screwed.

:orb_duh: Of course, why didn't the dealer think of that!

I asked the same question, apparently the lambda sensor checks out OK?:(
