How To Disable Rear Parking Sensors

Featured Replies

Hmm, probably not an easy job though. The switch you are talking about, on the models with front and rear sensors, is bound to be connected to the car's computer and not actually doing something like dropping the supply to the sensors, but probably turning them on and off at a computer control level. I.E. in switching them off, I'm sure this will be just telling the computer to just ignore the data they are feeding back.

Thought that too, but surely the switch is just a switch? If it's connected to some logic somewhere, then that logic must be available from Skoda.

You can use the switch to switch the sensors on in this situation.

Rear sensor come on when you engage reverse or turn on ignition while there is an object close behind.

Front sesor come on if you turn on ignition and there is something in front.

Switch enables both ends if pressed at below 15 kpm

all disengage above 15 kpm

Resurrecting an old thread here in the hope that someone has worked around the problem of switching off the rear parking sensor for situations such as reversing a trailer/caravan.

If anyone has a solution, please enlighten me and save me from the noise...

 but the car I test drove was different. Front sensors didnt come on automatically. Weird.

the rear sensors come on when reverse is engaged, this also brings the fronts on. If you drive straight forward into a parking spot, non of the sensors will be working because reverse hasn't been engaged, so press the button and the sensors are switched on, press it again, there switched off

the button will also disable the sensors if they have been turned on by engaging reverse, as also mentioned they are switched off automatically above a threshold speed
