Clonking DSG

Featured Replies

Hi all, The DSG in my 2.0 TDI 140 with 3,000 on the clock is clonking on the down changes  , I got this box as I heard it was so good, anyone else having problems?

I am in China at the moment and my girlfriend called to tell me that it was happening, wondering if I should tell her to get it in to dealer or wait until I get back at the weekend? Any advice would be very helpul.

Get it to a dealer pronto. Mine never clonks though sometimes it can jerk a bit when you catch it on the hop.

The problem seems to when you are slowing at a fairly low speed to turn a corner and then come back on the power - feels as though you catch the DSG deciding which gear it wants to be in and it has to change its mind rapidly with a bit of a hiccup - or clonk?

Get it to the dealer - mine has 27K under it now, and although it's jerked once or twice when caught on the hop, it's never clonked.

Well I have found the solution, My GF called the other day and said that when she acccelerated and braked there was a clonk on the gearbox, after booking a service and asking people for advice she informed me that she had taken the snapple bottle out from under the seat and all was well!!!!!!!!  :thumbup:

I bet you don't know whether to laugh or cry!!!!
