Featured Replies

I have a skoda felicia 1.3 estate and it has been running fine untill the other day i tryed to start it and it just died afer it started. It does this every time I try and start it it runs for about 2 seconds then dies as if the ecu is telling it to cut of.

I am baffeled as i have checked every thing and dont no what 2 do. any one got any ideas ?

thanks mark

possibly your immobiliser... the battery in the key could be dying.... not a expert, but that would be a guess...

There are good people here I am sure they will help :D

I thought that the immobiliser used a (passive) transponder in the key body: doesn't the battery just do the light?

Either way, try the other key.

Another thing to try is to keep your foot pressing the throttle a bit during the start up, to see if you can keep it going once it's fired up.

If the CTS has failed the ECU may be trying to do a hot start with a cold engine. Lean mixture once the starting conditions are past = stalled engine.

Quite right.

Either way, try the other key.

That is what I would advise.

Has the key been apart and the transponder lost, is the insde of the key covered in 'pocket fluff' that could be impeding the signal?

And a big thanks from me too - here on a rainy Saturday morning trying to fit a second hand steering lock to my Felicia. With a Stanley knife and a little care you can get the transponder out of the old key intact - swapped 'em over and all's well again!

Hi I am new to briskoda say bear with me .

After my wife got the ignition key stuck I replaced the Ignition barrel & key with a 2nd hand one & the car fired up then died. The garage I tuck it after testing stated the Engine ECU had

blown , after checking it myself i can see bluey/green deposits of the far left connectors.

Since then I have obtained the matching ignition receiver to the key .

My car is a silver 1300 gli Felicia estate 1997 What should do ?
