Rolling road recommendation?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of a good rolling road testbed in the midlands/warwickshire area?

I am aware that some rolling roads can give inaccurate readouts and can be optimistic with their figures.

I have been recommended Aldon Automotive. Anyone tried these people?

Comments appreciated.

Here is a list of rolling roads in the UK straight off Google:

You could have a look at SEATCupra.net to see what members there have to say about rolling roads. A search for 'rolling roads' on that site turned up 33 hits.

call them & ask for vince

tell him mark off cupranet sent you (we're having an RR day there in 10 days)

Mark

Say Mark sent you? That'll double the price then

You going to put details of your wonderful track days on here as well then Mark?

I've put my name down for the Alconbury on in June/July, please can I come in my slow black one??

Fabia  I have used Aldon several times when I was going through my French Hot Hatch phase. I found them knowledgable, helpful, friendly and their rolling road graphs seemed spotty dog for accuracy... (considering manufacturers standard figures compared to the expected power increase for mods carried out). Admittedly, this was for an AX GT and a 205 1.9 :D .

Dunno what they're like with the diesel, but I'm sure if you ring 'em they'll be fairly honest

(got it right the second time) :-)

Thanks very much for all your responses.

I will give Aldon Automotive a ring to see what they can do as they are fairly close, but i'll check out the others as well.

How about a rolling road day for the Briskoda lot? Could be interesting!

Ha bloody ha

Yes - of course I'll let you lot know once I have firmed up 6th June.

4wd RR's are a little rare, BUT with all RR's make sure you go to one that knows their way round VAG. they like their cold air in the right places.

If your looking for a rolling road around that area. Forget Aldon. Go to HiTech Motorsport in Cradley Heath. Thats were I used to have my Westfield rolling roaded.

The main guy there (Mick Mobbley) really knows his stuff. Over the years I have heard some really dodgy stuff about Aldon. Although they did do a good job on my mates TVR engined Westfield. He was forced to go there because HiTech's rolling road would only go upto 300bhp.

A rolling road day for us lot sounds like a cracking idea

North / South / Midlands, I don't mind

(work in Chelmsford, live in Derby and walk in Scotland, Cumbria and North Wales) :? :( --==zoom zoom =>

(Note of caution to self:- Huge potential to instigate North/South divide debate)

Lived in North Wales for a couple of years and had SO much fun on th A5 with a 205 GTi.

Not so sure about Aldon now, although i only need a power/torque plot. Curious you see....

Anyone else for a RR day?

I'd be up for a RR day

So all we need now is someone with great organisation skills to step in and take over....
