alarm/imobiliser...

Featured Replies

once locked.... its alarm is set and immobaliser is on right?... see a few months back when my mum tried to move my car she didnt know she had to use the button to unlock the car to disable the alarm... so when she went to start the car it wouldnt start the immobaliser kicked in and the siren went off... did it today and the alarm went off for a split second and the engine started as usual:S ... was that mean to happen? i was only trying it out to see if the alarm still sirened.... because i locked my mates in the car a fe weeks ago as a laugh when i came back there was no noise just the flashing lights:( how can i test my alarm! :(

My understanding was the immobiliser is enabled/disabled when the key is removed from the ignition (after 30 seconds?). The alarm and deadlocks are set/unset with the lock/unlock on the remote.

No idea why the siren didn't sound when your mates were locked in the car, I'd expect it to sound for 30 seconds if the alarm was triggered and then just remain flashing the hazard warning lights. :D

Your insurance will know an immobiliser is fitted as standard (which will make up the group it's in) so I doubt you'll save anything ;):D
