110 TDI suspension bushes

Featured Replies

Hi All

52K and the front end has started crashing and banging, sounds like the ARB bushes - but as I love the car so much I think I will renew the whole lot front and rear.

Going by reading previous threads I am sold on the idea of upgrading

My questions are -

Powerflex seem to be the preffered option, does anyone have the part numbers required.

Do I need any special tools for removing any of them.

Any advise would be appreciated.

I did the ARB bushes on mine last weekend (just the std VAG ones).

Used a trolley jack under the lower suspension arm to lift the ARB up & down off the bush and monkey wrench to clamp the ARB forward abit so i could get the mounting clamp done up again!

It's made a really masive difference to the handling & i now have no noise going over speed bumps!

As for all the other bushes i don't have a clue but i think you might have to get a garage to do it as i think they need special tools to get the bushes into the lower arm. - i'm sure some one will be able to say for sure!

You need a press to do the front ones really and a puller to get the rer beam bushes out.
