Sounds like that is for the service and the annual inspection.

i just had a 30000 mile service at simpsons in colne(same service as u i am pretty sure oil etc) and cost 94 quid, so yes seems a bit steep

As said, it sounds like they're doing an annual service which includes an inspection. If you only do 10k a year, then this about right for this service. If you do 20k a year, then you only need one annual inspection service and this can be deferred to the 20k service. In this case, you just need a "lube" service at 10k miles which should be around 70-80 quid.

They should be able to tell you a breakdown of what they will be carrying out for the quoted amount
