Hello all,

Just signed up, I'm looking at an Octavia vRS, probably a 2002-3.

What common problems should I look out for? Any recalls, work that should have been done under warranty?

Medium-term I'm looking at the Jabbasport remap to 230bhp.. Milltek exhaust looks like a good option to go with it?

Anyone got expeirence of modifying these engines? How do they stand up to tuning??

A lot of questions I know, any advice would be appreciated...

Thanks

Ross

hello hello and hello,

these engines are bulletproof, so long as you get it serviced regularly and get the timing belt changed at the right intervals you should be ok

Thanks for that. Looks like 4 year cmbelt change is being recommended?? Does anyone have a preference between the 2001-3 and the 2003-5 version Octavia??

Trying to seal a deal on an Octavia vRS but I want it to go faster..

Jabbasport remap for

Full turbo back exhaust, induction, turbo inlet pipe, DV & front mount intercooler should just about do it :D With a custom map that little lot should get you 230+bhp and 250+lbft torque

Once those are done suspension upgrades, brakes etc would be the order of the day

No one has mentioned a common problem yet, althought there is really only 1 ---- Tyring to keep to the speed limit & your licence clean, ;):).

That goes for either of the vRS's that are owned.
