I've come to this as the clutch doesnt seem to really take much more (long term) than the generic map' date=' so why bother going custom?[/quote']

With a custom map you should be able to get roughly what you want ie a more gradual power increase which will give you the overall power output but help you to preserve the clutch. Generic maps can be quite harsh when the turbo kicks in (Mine is flatter that a witches chest untill 1800 rpm and then will pull your face off until 3000 but it's quite brutal and my clutch and flywheel are suffering). The custom map will be tailored to your car and requirements.

Also, do you realise that when you do get a remap you will need to upgrade the brakes? Then when you upgrade the brakes it shows the suspension up and you have to upgrade your springs and dampers.

I know what your thinking. Why bother with the remap at all? Just go for the ARB instead. THen you will sit there thinking about how nice it would be to have a bit of extra power to really use it...

Welcome to Briskoda BTW

IMO get the ARB and the custom remap AND the cupra intake.

Dunno about the Green panel filter, I think unless one's racing just replace the standard one frequently, say every 10K or 6 months?

The point of a custom remap is it's your choice as to what you want the car to do. So what about limiting the torque to somewhere below 280lbft? One of the major pluses I've read about any remap is it extends the power band and makes for a more "petrol like" driving experience.

Why not speak with Jabbasport regarding the potential of the custom map.

Cheers,

J.
