Yellow....It's Changing colour..

Featured Replies

I noticed yesterday that my Yellow Furbie is changing colour. The filler cap and the rear skirt are a differant shade of yellow. ..I think the paint is starting to fade...Is it because the paint is on Plastic....I don't Know................Do You....:(

With any luck it will be white by December :P

Yep my mk1 octy had the same problem rear spoiler and fuel cap after 2 years but skoda resprayed them under warrenty oh and it was yellow.:)

Maybe yellow isnt the best colour after all then! :P

As said, should be a warranty job to put right. :)

If you want to avoid paint fade then the best colour is silver. Silver also doesn't show the marks anywhere near as badly as black, red and yellow.

Silver is also THE most difficult colour to match when carrying out repairs to the bodywork, is bland and pretty boring. ;)

Misty grey pearlescent paints are the best imho.:rofl:

Silver cars look like "Reps" cars.......and as Tom say's " Bland and boring...My Yellow Furbie has a couple of stone chips on the bonnet and you can hardly see them . The scratches/ chips stick out a mile on the wifes Silverline. [Yes I know it's Silver but we got it at the right price]

I have got a red Furby and is shows every single little mark. My previous car was metalic silver and marks were harder to spot. Part of the problem is the rubbish paint quality on newer cars. Oil based paints we so much better.

I also think the primer is either White or light grey therefor stands out against a dark coloured car

Black is the easiest colour to mark. Shows up all the swirls, marks and scratches. Looks the dirtiest most quickly.

But when it's clean and waxed EASILY looks the best :)

My car is a testament to how bad silver is to match. Have one door blatantly not the same colour as the one next to it, and the front bumper is also a different shade (although thats being resprayed in a week's time or so)
