Car Aerial 'Amplifier' needed

Featured Replies

Not even sure if they exist, but having installed an FM modulator:

It appears that I am now suffering the same problems that these people suffered:

Basically, it appears that this gadget is stopping the power getting to the aerial amplifier, what can I buy to resolve this?

I can't pick up any AM / MW anymore which means no more 5 live!!!

Cheers for that! :) From using your post, this should be a bit more ideal for me :) (partly cos Halfords site is so naff, you can't see a proper picture!)

Found this:

That should fix it - from what I can see... what connects into the 'blue' bit tho - does the original aeriel fit in there - looks like it won't because of the notch on it...

Can anyone confirm? :)

*woops - double post* :D

Looks like it could be VW specific rather than VAG generic to me.

Better pictures of the Halfords ones available at other Autoleads retailer websites, try "PC5-90" in Google.

ah right - cheers mate :) will have a bit more of a scour later to check for better pictures :)

Blue cable is for a switched 12v power supply. You should find an electric aerial connection on your HU, that will be just fine.

The model is "ariel signal booster from halfords model pc5-52"

It works fine for me

May also need an ariel adaptor from halfords, to convert female to male ariel.

Looks like male plug on one end and female socket on the other. About 1.5inches long silver.
