Superb 2.8v6 Elegance LPG

Featured Replies

Hi all I have a 02 plate Superb 2.8 v6 which I have recently converted (not me personally) to LPG. The tank goes in the spare wheel well and there is no loss of performance. I am very pleased with the car and the conversion but have had a couple of problems with the battery running flat overnight if the car hasn't been used for a day or 2. I put a Multi meter onto the battery and was surprised to find that the car was drawing in a pulsating fashion .28 amps then 9 amps in a 3 second cycle (approx). Whilst pulling various fuses I could hear a noise from inside the car which was in time with the battery current pulse. I eventually tracked it down (well at least hopefully) to the passenger seat. I think one of the motor servos was trying to adjust the seat then giving up then trying again. I played with the seat controls and the noise stopped so hope fully everything will be fine from now on. The only other thing I would like some help with is when I take the key out after driving for more than a couple of minutes there is a "peep" noise similar to a low fuel warning noise. This occurs irrespective of Radio on/off, lights on/off and I can't work out what it could be no warning icon on dash? Any ideas?

No idea about your problems i'm afraid, but welcome to Briskoda.

And its great to have another Skoda driver running on LPG.

The problem with the passenger seat appears to be a design fault, anybody else had a flat batter on a superb? The problem is when the switch is pressed or knocked to incline when the seat fully inclines the button doesn't auto switch off. This means that the motor in the seat trys to incline further then as it can't stops, then trys again 2 to 3 seconds later. This draws a large 8 to 9 amps from the battery which is enough to flattern it in a night or 2 if not driven to recharge, I susspect the problem would be worse in winter as the battery would drain quicker. Would like to know if anyone else has found this problem? or if some one could could re-post this on technical for me I would be grateful.
