...a bit like bed knobs and broom sticks!?!

Moving on, two vRS Octy technical difficulties in need help with.

1) Gear Knob and remove there of. Have followed people's advice - lift gaiter cover, attach mole grips to shaft, hold knob and shaft tightly and twist (no funny quotes please). Am I a wimp? It will not budge. Suggestions?

2) Glove box light. I took mine out to change bulb 'coz it didn't work. As I pulled (too hard it would seem) the lever switch thingy spring went ping and I have no idea what orientation it goes back together. Anyone car to take a close up photo of the lever switch bit and post it here so I can try to reconfigure the thing. Spent at least 5 hours yesterday trying various orientations all to no avail. Good job I'm the patient sort...
