engine management light on again

Featured Replies

since fitting a sports cat to my 02 octy rs i ve had the engine management light on twice. On both occasions i ve taken it to the dealers and they ve reset it, however now they ve decided that if it happens again they are going to charge the princely sum of 48+VAT to reset it, quite steep in my opinion considering the money that has previously gone their way from my pocket. Has anyone got any experience of this kind of problem and a possible remedy. please:(

I've (amongst many) got the same problem.

As I understand it, the trick is to move the Lambda probe (after the cat) out of the flow path a little.

I've emailed a gezza in the US of A who has this spacer thingy and am awaiting a reply.

If you like, when I find out the cost of the goods + shipping, I'll PM yer with the price.

Owlzat ?

PS. don't go to the dealer anymore, find someone in your area with VAG.COM, they'll be able to cancel the fault code,,,,, but alas not cure it.

Really depends on what the fault code is. Just resetting it wont cure it, you need to find what is causing it.
