Timing Belt Kit For Vrs

Featured Replies

Anyone know the best place to go for a timing belt kit for a Fabia vRS? Main dealer don't seem to sell a complete kit, and VAG dealers are a bit vague on the subject. I am a new member on this site, my vRS is just coming up for 100,000 miles (do 1000 per week as a driving instructor). Long term the car has been absolutely fantastic, no major problems in two years, still on the original clutch even with all the abuse it gets from learners, and the seats have worn very well too. I have seen a few posts regarding wear on seats but have not had this problem myself. Picked up a great tip off this site the other day which advised cleaning seats with soda crystals, brilliant advice, seats have come up like new!!Look forward to some replies, thanks for looking....SAJNA

Audi S3 wheels on your car by any chance?

(I see a driving school Fabia VRS round my way now and again with S3-type wheels on it)

Not sure about the timing belt question though sorry. Welcome.

Cambelt should have been done @ 80k, leaving it a bit late?

Why not just get a belt and tensioner from a dealer?

Welcome.

Cheers for advice, understand your reasons for change of belt at 80k, having read some of the other threads. However, my service book says 100k, and my local garage have concurred on that. I have been quoted

Cheers for reply Texasjohn, surprised to hear of another vRS going around as a driving school car. I'm in the Banbury area, where there are a fair few standard diesel Fabias, but no other vRS. One instructor commented to me that the car would be too powerful for his learners, but not so. The car is happy to tootle round town at 20mph, and equally at home on a Pass Plus Motorway course in 6th gear. Pupils love it to bits. SAJNA.
