My engine is clocked now by 3 miles.

Had the oddest little blip with my car this morning. Started up... ASR and ABS lights on, BEEEEEP BEEEEP BEEEEEEEP! Handbrake light flashing on and off, and me going "WTF?" with my mum sat next to me.

Kept on driving as it felt fine and I thought perhaps it was just brakes related, which seemed to be working fine in practise. Dropped Mum at work, and realised when driving to my audit in Exeter that the speedo was on zero, even at speed.

Drove there, got worried, txt'd the master tech, but when I got back in the car to go home, it was fine, and has been started up several times since then too.

Any ideas? Just a momentary blip of a front ABS sender / sensor?

maybe the sender for the speedo on the gearbox is playing up??

IIRC the vRS takes the speed input from the ABS not the gearbox.

oh ok, that's a usefull thing to remember.. on the 2.0 it comes from a sender ontop of the diff

My superb does this, according to a Skoda dealers the ABS control module needs replacing -

The exact same thing happened to me a few weeks ago. ASB, power steering and asr lights on, hand brake light flashing and beeping, no speedo. This happened three times in a row and then the engine management light came on. Took it to the dealers and they said no faut was logged. Its been fine since.

probrably tired of going up and down soo fast it gave up! ;)

Seen this on my car 4 or 5 times over 18 months, just turn the engine off, lock the car wait 1 min unlock and then re start, after this my car is normally fine.

Taken it into skoba a few times but alas no answer allways no fault found. guess it iwll have to display the fault whilst at the dealers

Well, I'll scan mine at the weekend, but I'm guessing whatever ABS sensor is also the sender for the speedo, gave up temporarily for that morning. Was most odd. I was looking forward to driving 2000 miles next week without putting any miles on the clock. But it's not done it since so I'm :) :) :) Certainly won't be spending any money on it, unless it becomes permanent.
